Showmars Summer Food Drive

Partnering with WSOC, Showmars is collecting canned good donations for Second Harvest Food Bank

On average more than one in five children in America are at risk of hunger, which totals more than 16 million children nationwide. During the summer months the risks of child hunger are even higher because school meals aren’t available anymore.

From Monday, June 18, until Friday, June 22, Showmars is partnering with WSOC Family Focus to collect canned good donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank. To kick-start the event and help end hunger in the Queen City, the Showmars location in Mint Hill is hosting a prize-wheel contest. On Monday, June 18, those who drop off donations will have the opportunity to spin the wheel and win exciting Showmars prizes.

Also on Wednesday, June 20, donations can be dropped off at the WSOC station in exchange for Showmars coupons. Showmars customers are encouraged to drop off donations at any of the 28 convenient Showmars locations throughout the week to help Second Harvest Food Bank.

As the largest hunger relief charity in the Charlotte area, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina works to end hunger by supplying a network of 650 non-profit agencies in 19 counties with food and essential grocery products.
