Showmars Goes ‘Red’ For During Month Of February

Popular restaurant partners with Go Red for Women to raise heart disease

In honor of American Heart Month, for the second consecutive year, Showmars will partner with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement to raise money and awareness for heart disease this February.

For the entire month of February, Showmars will collect $1 from every Chicken Pita and Greek Salad sold at each of its 28 locations. In addition, the local restaurant will sell Go Red limited edition pins with all proceeds benefitting the American Heart Association.

Red Dress cut-outs will be on-site at Showmars’s 521 and Mint Hill store locations during certain days in February. Patrons can strike a pose with their very own ‘red dress’ and share their special moments from the Go Red for Women campaign.

“All of us at here at Showmars are honored to partner with the Go Red for Women campaign for a second year. So many people are impacted by women’s heart disease whether it is a mother, daughter, sister, aunt or family friend, and this is our way of giving back to the community, by standing up against breast cancer,” said General Manager Tommy Racano.

Cardiovascular disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were unaware of the risks. To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women, the American Heart Association created Go Red For Women in 2004 – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
