A gyro worth the reputation

The Showmars Gyro Pita has been on the menu since we opened on Independence Blvd. in Charlotte, NC in 1982, rooted in the Greek cooking traditions our founder brought to the Carolinas. We believe we serve more gyros than anyone in the Carolinas, and possibly more than any single restaurant chain on the East Coast. That reputation was built one pita at a time.

The Gyro Meat

Our gyro meat is a seasoned blend of beef and lamb, spiced the traditional Greek way with oregano, garlic, and onion. Each portion is chargrilled to order, locking in the flavor and giving you hot, tender gyro meat every time.

The Pita makes it

Not every pita is built for a gyro. Ours is a hand-stretched 7″ pita bread, lightly oiled and grilled warm on the flat top. With 8 grams of protein in the bread alone, it holds together and fuels you up from the first bite to the last. Layered with diced tomatoes, onions, and our signature pita sauce, every bite delivers the full gyro experience.

Made to order

When you order a Gyro Pita at Showmars, it is made fresh. The meat goes on the grill, the pita gets warm, and your sandwich is assembled to order. Fast, fresh, and done right.
