Showmars Helps Raise Autism Awareness For Two Of Their Own
Autism Aware Fare 2012 and Showmars are coming together to support Autism Awareness
CHARLOTTE, NC (April 17, 2012) – In 2012 it was reported that one in 88 children in the United States has an Autism Spectrum Disorder. On April 24, Showmars will be partnering with the Autism Aware Fare to help raise funds for those affected by autism. The event is all the more special because Showmars Mint Hill has two members of their team who are on the autism spectrum.
In honor of the Autism Aware Fare 2012, Showmars Mint Hill restaurant will donate 5 percent of sales on Tuesday April 24 to the Autism Society of North Carolina Mecklenburg County Chapter.
Until the puzzle of autism is solved, donations made allow the Autism Society to step up to the plate to help those with autism, their families and the professionals dedicated to working with them.
Autism Aware Fare, much like an individual with autism, is ever-evolving, improving, growing and reaching out to the community for support and understanding. That community has continued to inquire, learn and lend emotional and financial support.
“Autism Awareness is something that is near and dear to the hearts of our staff,” said General Manager Tommy Racano. “Showmars Mint Hill is proud to employ two students of Philips Academy, which focuses on educating students with complex language, learning and/or cognitive disabilities, as well as other autism spectrum disorders.”
“Charlie Carruthers and Kathryn Clardy, both from the Bridges program at Philips Academy, are an important part of our team and a pleasure to work with. We offer our support daily to Charlie and Kathryn and are happy to extend our support further into the community,” said Racano.
Showmars Mint Hill restaurant is located at 6850 Matthews-Mint Hill Road Mint Hill, NC 28227.
